 Despite being cold the sunshine brought out a red admiral at the croquet lawns this morning

 Whilst frequently heard around the grounds today was the first time I have seen one on my patio

A lovely morning giving a break in wet and dismal weather brought a small copper out. It flying around the croquet lawns mid-morning

 One on the lawns at 4.00am this morning

 This year's returning numbers seem to be 30 maximum, a little down on last year?

The first one seen on the 1st November but occasional further observations followed through the ear;y part of the month.
