14th December 2025 - Six feeding on the cricket pitch this morning in cold weather.

About 24 in the Monterrey Pine the he Powys grounds this morning. They are not normally gregarious!

Despite being cold the sunshine brought out a red admiral at the croquet lawns this morning

Whilst frequently heard around the grounds today was the first time I have seen one on my patio

A lovely morning giving a break in wet and dismal weather brought a small copper out. It flying around the croquet lawns mid-morning

One on the lawns at 4.00am this morning

This year's returning numbers seem to be 30 maximum, a little down on last year?

The first one seen on the 1st November but occasional further observations followed through the ear;y part of the month.
